Advent is here! It began on November 30. So...? Advent is the time when
we begin our journeys through the year, asking and searching for answers
to the questions of life: who are we? What does our faith really mean to
us? What makes life worth living? What does it mean to say we know God's
love in his Son, Jesus? |
Needy families are better off each Christmas because of the work we do at Emmanuel. From gifts from people like you and the Women of Emmanuel's rummage sales and bazaar, we buy gifts, food and necessary supplies that go into the Christmas Baskets. Local schools provide us with the names of families who could use a little extra help with the holidays. We get the first names and ages of the children, along with hints about their interests or needs so we can purchase appropriate gifts. In December, families are invited to come to the Church to pick up their baskets. There are lots of ways you can help! Help by giving a cash gift. Help make the bazaar on Friday, November 21 a success. Help by buying gifts. Help by wrapping gifts on December 7. Help on basket pickup day. You are needed! Any questions, contact Anne Abdy. |

| Now
is the time to make a donation to provide a Poinsettia for the decoration
of our church at Christmas. If you would like to give one as a memorial or
a thanksgiving, please let us know. Checks should be made out to "Emmanuel Parish" earmarked for the Flower Fund. A donation of $10 (or so) would be most welcome. If will help us prepare for our Christmas celebrations if you can let us know by December 17. |
